THIS HOUR HAS 22 MINUTES is an iconic comedy show armed with sardonic sketches, biting parodies, and an unrelenting skewering of the weekly news. Starring Mark Critch, Cathy Jones, Susan Kent, and Trent McClellan, 22 Minutes has been at the forefront of provocative satire for more than a quarter of a century, targeting politics, culture, and world events.

One of Canada's best-known and top-rated comedy shows, 22 MINUTES has been recognized with numerous awards over the years, including the Canadian Screen Awards Academy Icon Award. 22 MINUTES has also won several Canadian Comedy Awards, including Best TV Show.

Mark Critch - Co-host

From Prime Ministers and Premiers to movie stars and celebrities, Mark Critch proves that everyone has a funny side. 22 Minutes anchor and roving reporter, Mark is one of the hardest working comedians in show business, winning multiple awards for both writing and performance. Hitting the road every week, Mark brings the powerful and famous down to earth and into your living room.

In addition to 14 years starring on This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Mark has appeared in CBC's Winnipeg Comedy Festival and is the host of CBC's Halifax Comedy Festival and has written for and appeared in CBC's world-renowned Just for Laughs series.

Mark's role in the highly-acclaimed feature film The Grand Seduction, garnered him Best Actor Award at the 2013 Atlantic Film Festival.

Mark's involvement in many film and television shows, includes acting in Newfoundland's own Republic of Doyle and co-writing a special for The Muppets. Mark also put out his book Son of a Critch in 2018! Mark attends the Canadian Screen Awards every year, as he is a staple yet humble Canadian star!

Susan Kent - Co-host

Susan Kent began working in television in 2005 when she played Darlene in CBC's Hatching Matching and Dispatching. Other television credits include Death Comes to Town (Kids in the Hall), The Republic of Doyle, and Mr. D, as well as Gemini winner for Best Comedy Ensemble,3 Chords from the Truth.

Notable film credits include, The Con Artist with Donald Sutherland, which she was totally cut out of, Diverted; Sundance Film Festival selection Grown Up Movie Star; How To Be Deadly and Relative Happiness. She has written for radio and television, theatre, and sketch comedy, as well as two one-woman shows Nan Loves Jerry and Jerry'd Alive!Susan is a member of sketch group Dance Party of Newfoundland.

Trent McClellan -Correspondent

Trent McClellan is a comedian who has been performing stand-up across Canada for over 14 years. Some of his most notable appearances include sets at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, Winnipeg Comedy Festival, St. John’s Exit Realty Comedy Fest, the Moncton HubCap Comedy Fest, the Edmonton Comedy Festival, and the YYC Calgary Comedy Festival. Trent has also appeared on CBC’s The Debaters, defended “February” by Lisa Moore on CBC Canada Reads, and has opened for acts such as Bob Saget and Gerry Dee. In 2016, Trent was a guest writer and performer on This Hour Has 22 Minutes and officially joined the show for its 25th season in 2017/2018.

Cathy Jones - Co-host

With an unprecedented 30 consecutive years on Canadian television, Cathy Jones is a national treasure. A founding member of the Codco theatre troupe from Newfoundland, this year she is celebrating her 23rd year on the hilarious satire This Hour Has 22 Minutes. She is happy to be a multiple Gemini Award winner and to play fun parts in a variety of films - notably the gorgeous The Grand Seduction. Cathy is currently cracking audiences up with her new one-woman show Stranger to Hard Work. She lives happily in Halifax with her daughters and grandsons.
